Wind versus Sun
Once upon a time the sun and the wind had a quarrel. Each boasted that he was more powerful than the other. As neither would yield to the other, they agreed to have a contest to prove their strength.
One day a quarrel arose between the wind and the sun about their power. Each claimed to be more powerful than the other. As neither would give an inch of ground, they wrangled and wrangled.
At length a traveller came and they agreed to try their power on him. It was decided that the one who was able to make the traveller take his coat off would be considered the more powerful of the two. The wind began and blew as hard as it could and brought dark clouds. Then there was a shower of rain.
Naturally, instead of pulling his coat off the traveller pulled it close to keep the chill off. Seeing this the wind gave up the attempt. It was now the sun's turn. He began to grow hotter and warmed the air.
So the cloud moved away. Then the sun began to send down fire. Naturally, it becomes very hot below. As a result, the traveller began to sweat and to find relief, he pulled his coat off.
