The Nurse's Song Poem Summary and analysis
The “Nurse's Song” in the song of Innocence is quite simple in which is the poet renders a conversational narration of the talk between the nurse and the playing. The nurse seems to be a kind of angelic guardian who is present there though standing away from the children and not taking part in their games. The nurse's behaviour seems should be eloquently asserting that experience often leads to innocence.
Comparison between the two Nurses
The “Nurse’s Song” in the Song of Innocence is conversational whereas the “Nurse Song” in the Song of Experience is an aside. In Song of Innocence, the nurse keeps herself in close terms with nature and children and she feels happy and relaxed in her heart. There the nurse allows the children to play more when they protest against her command to go and sleep. In the Songs of Innocence, the nurse derives pleasure and tranquillity from the scene of the playing innocent children. But the nurse in Songs of Experience is preoccupied with herself, and her feeling and what she does are simply conveyed in a monologue.
