Deforestation Paragraph

(a) What is meant by deforestation?
(b) Why is it happening?
(c) Where is it taking place most seriously?
(d) What are the consequences of deforestation?
(e) What measures do you suggest to prevent it?

Deforestation means cutting down trees in large number. The causes of deforestation are many. Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world. Its population is much more in proportion to its area. This huge number of population needs more shelter, agricultural land, fuel, furniture etc. For all these reasons people cut trees. Moreover there are some dishonest people who cut trees in our forests to make money. The effects of deforestation are too many to describe. This destruction distrubs our ecological balance. The existence of animals is going to be threatened.

Due to deforestation carbon dioxide is increasing worldwide. As a result , the world is becoming warmer. The sea level is rising and many parts of the world are going to be engulfed by the sea in recent future. On the other hand, new areas of the world are turning into deserts as a result of deforestation. The removal of trees causes birds and other animals living on them to leave the place. It also causes serious damage to the soil, as trees give portection to soil as well. In the end, the soil gets sediment in the river bed and causes frequent floods.

So, if we destroy trees at random , one day the country will turn into a great desert. All living animals and birds will not find any food or shelter to live in. They will be destroyed. There will be no rain and as a result our agriculture will face a great crisis. The temperature will rise and it will cause green house effect. The country will be unsuitable for living and various natural calamities like flood, drought, storm etc. will visit our country. Immediate measures should be taken to prevent deforestation. People should be made aware of tree plantation through mass media. Tree plantation programme should be extended throughout the country

Paragraph on Deforestation

Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use. Deforestation means cutting down trees at random. According to the ecologists, for live able environment there should be forest on the 25% land of the total land area.

In Bangladesh there is 16% forest of the total land. Deforestation occurs for many reasons: trees are cut down to be used or sold as fuel or timber, while cleared land is used for livestock, plantations of commodities, and settlements. Trees are useful to us in various ways. They are also a great source of food, vitamins and furniture and they help to prevent drought and floods.

To draw quick profit from trees, men cut them down in large numbers. This destruction disturbs our ecological balance. It leads to soil erosion and deprives us of fruit and timber and causes economic loss. Trees play a pivotal role in maintaining ecological balance. Trees produce oxygen and receive carbon dioxide.

In absence of trees carbon dioxide is increasing worldwide. As a result, there is global warming. The sea level is rising. Any time in future the earth may be engulfed by seas. So, we have to realize the bad effects of deforestation. In fact, if deforestation goes on, our country will be changed into a desert. The quickest solution to deforestation would be to simply stop cutting down trees. So, we have to educate our common people and to persuade them to abstain from cutting down trees.

We should create awareness among the general people about the evils of destroying forests and motivate them to plant more and more trees. Otherwise the forests of our country will slowly disappear and we will be in great miseries. So, I think every man and woman should plant at least a tree every year.

Paragraph on Indiscriminate Cutting of Trees

Deforestation or indiscriminate cutting of trees has become a global problem in recent times. Deforestation refers to the destruction of forests at random. It is just the reverse process of tree plantation. The most common causes of deforestation are cutting down trees and burning rainforests.

World's population is increasing constantly. This increasing population requires more amount of land for habitations and cultivation purposes. They also need timber, wood, fuel, and furniture. So, people cut down trees in order to meet these requirements. Sometimes, forests are occupied in the name of development.

Moreover, a number of dishonest people cut down trees in our forest for money. Deforestation has many adverse effects on our life and environment. The removal of trees causes the birds and other animals, living on them , to leave the place. It also causes serious damage to the soil, as trees give protection to soil as well.

Due to deforestation, the amount of carbon dioxide is increasing worldwide. As a result , the world is getting warmer. Most importantly, deforestation is mostly responsible for climate change, which results in rising of temperature, erratic rainfall, floods, cyclones, drought, melting of polar ice-caps etc. It hampers our agricultural production as well.

In order to save our existence, deforestation must be tackled. For this, common people should be made aware of the causes and consequences of deforestation. Alternative use of trees should be found out. Government should introduce strict laws in order to protect our forests. By preventing deforestation, we can ensure a better environment for us.

Deforestation Paragraph for JSC

Deforestation endangers our life. There are many factors behind deforestation. Our population, excessive pressure on land and our carelessness are mainly responsible for this destruction.

Population is increasing at a high rate and this additional population requires more land for settlement and agricultural cultivation. So, with the increase of population, infrastructural facilities are getting increased. There are more roads, bridges, educational institutions, hospitals and many other institutions to serve innumerable purposes.

The result is that land areas are decreasing and land for trees and forests are getting decreased day by day. People are also destroying trees for cooking food, making brick, melting pitch etc. But deforestation causes increase of carbon dioxide, global warming and ecological imbalance.

So, if deforestation continues, one day the country will turn into a great desert. All living animals and birds will not find any food or shelter to live in. They will be destroyed. The rain will be decreased and as a result our agriculture will face a great crisis.

The temperature will increase. Natural disasters like flood, cyclone, tidal surge, sea level rise etc. will visit our country very often. All these badly affect wild life. In fact, deforestation is a threat to our existence.

Deforestation Paragraph for Class 6 and 7

The importance of forest in our life needs no mention. Unfortunately people are cutting down trees in large number which is causing the natural environment inhabitable for human beings . This indiscriminate cutting of trees is called deforestation.

Deforestation is mainly done by human beings. People cut trees to meet up their basic needs of food, housing and making fire. For acquiring land for cultivation and residential purpose people are destroying forest in a gross manner. Sometimes deforestation is done in the name of development.

But it is true that no sustainable development is possible causing harm to the environment. Deforestation is a global problem which is haunting the whole world. The result of deforestation is very serious. It can damage the environmental situation severely leading us to an uninhabitable world.

Bangladesh has only 16 % of forest whereas there should be forest on the 25 % land of the total land area. If this state continues one day the country may turn into a desert. Again deforestation gives rise to global temperature which in turn may cause the lower parts of the world including Bangladesh go under water. So, to get out of this danger we should impose new rules as soon as possible.

The Bad Impacts of Deforestation

Deforestation means cutting and burning down of forests. There are many causes of deforestation. People are increasing like mice in a barn. Their needs and necessities are also increasing. As trees and plants are of great use to them, they cut them down. They use timber to make furniture and firewood for fuel.

By burning down forest, they also make living place . But they are not aware of the harmful effects of deforestation. Due to deforestation, carbon dioxide is increasing. And so the weather pattern is being changed. The world is becoming warmer. The heat of the sun is trapped inside the atmosphere.

As a result , the polar ice caps are melting. And this situation will flood huge areas of the globe. As ours is a low-lying region, it may one day go under water.

Therefore, effective measures should be taken to prevent deforestation. Tree plantation programme should be introduced. If one cuts down a tree, one should plant two trees. Besides, public awareness should be raised to grow more plants and trees.
