Traffic Education Traffic education is a necessary part of the integrated approach to road safety, because it teaches us the behaviour related to road safety. Such type of education helps us know the traffic rules and regulations in a clear and simple way. The goal of this education is to learn the traffic safety. Traffic safety includes the methods and measures for reducing the risks of road accidents.

Some important regulations in traffic education are: while driving- we must not drink alcohol; we must not use cell phone; we must not try to cut short a lane; we must not drive in over-speed, etc. The road safety strategies focus on the prevention of serious injury and death crashes in spite of human fallibility. Continuous violation of traffic rules may cause severe hazards to our life and property.

WHO (World Health Organization) reports that more than 1 million people are killed on the world's roads and streets each year. The report also shows that this problem is the most severe one in developing countries and that simple prevention measures can halve the number of deaths. So, we must receive traffic education to enhance our consciousness about traffic system. It will reduce the number of road accidents. Generally, young people are prone to traffic accidents.

Hence, Bangladesh government has taken some steps to provide traffic education to young people and hence the development of safety-oriented attitudes are very important.

As young people are not a homogeneous group, a variety of approaches and methods are required for influencing their traffic attitudes and behaviour. For this reason, participatory models are extensively employed in youth traffic education.
