Covid-19 refers to Coronavirus Disease 2019 The word ‘Coronavirus’ comes from the crown-like projections of the virus. Corona in Latin means halo or crown.
Coronaviruses are types of Viruses that typically affect the respiratory tracts of birds and mammals, including humans. Doctors associate them with the common cold bronchitis, pneumonia, and severe acute respiratory naroine (SARS).
Most recently, authorities identified a new Coronavirus outbreak in China that has now become a global threat, it has the name disease Coronavirus19, or COVID-19. The coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic is the global health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since World War Two.
Since it's the emergence in China on 31 December 2019 the virus has spread to every continent, It has halted the onward movement of human civilisation by affecting and killing millions of people.
Symptoms of Covid-19 include sneezing, runny nose, fatigue, cough, fever, sore throat etc. However, symptoms vary from person-to-person. Young children, people aged 65 years or older and women who are pregnant have the highest risk of developing complications due to COVID- 19.
To prevent transmission, people should stay at home and rest while symptoms are active. They should also avoid close contact with other people. Covering the mouth and nose with a tissue or handkerchief while coughing or sneezing can also help prevent transmission. It is important to dispose of any tissues after use and maintain hygiene around the home.
Covid-19 has become a part of our life. We have to live our life normally by keeping ourselves free from it. If we follow some specific rules, we can easily keep ourselves free from Covid-19.
Firstly, we have to maintain social distancing everywhere keeping ourselves at a distance of three feet from others.
Secondly, we have to wear proper masks when we are out of our home.
Thirdly, we have to wash our hands with soap and water frequently for at least twenty seconds.
Fourthly, we should not touch our nose, mouth or eyes without washing our hands.
Fifthly, we have to wash ourselves and our clothes after returning home.
Sixthly, we have to take regular physical exercises.
Finally, we have to take a healthy diet with lots of liquids. We should exercise the motto:
