Changing sentence suggestions for SSC Exam

1. Change the sentences according to directions.
(a) Patriotism is nobler than most other virtues. (Positive)

Answer: (a) Very few virtues are as noble as patriotism.

(b) It is the greatest of all virtues in a man's life. (Comparative)

Answer: It is greater than all other virtues in a man's life.

(c) It persuades a man to do everything just. (Negative)

Answer: It persuades a man to do nothing unjust.

(d) This quality highly motivates a man. (Passive voice)

Answer: A man is highly motivated by this quality.

(e) What an outstanding quality it is! (Assertive)

Answer: It is a very outstanding quality.

(f) A man having patriotic zeal is called a patriot. (Active voice)

Answer: We call a man having patriotic zeal a patriot.

(g) A patriot fears only the Creator. (Negative)

Answer: A patriot fears none but the Creator.

(h) By paying taxes, he obeys the law. (Passive voice)

Answer: The law is obeyed by him by paying taxes.

(i) He is respected by all. (Complex)

2. Change the sentences according to directions.
(a) I answered her beckoning. (Compound)

Answer: She beckoned me and I answered her.
Or, I answered her who was beckoning.

(b) I went over during the interval. (Complex)

Answer: I went over when it was interval.

(c) Someone had mentioned her name to me. (Passive)

Answer: Her name was mentioned to me by someone.

(d) She was not so young as I expected. (Comparative) 

Answer: She was older than I expected.

(e) We are none of us getting any younger. (Affirmative)

(f) She asked me to luncheon. (Passive)

Answer: I was asked to luncheon by her.

(g) It was twenty years ago and I was living in Paris. (Simple) 

Answer: Twenty years ago, I was living in Paris.

(h) I was earning a little to keep body and soul together. (Complex)

Answer: I was earning a little so that I could keep body and soul together.

(i) She read a book of mine. (Passive) 

Answer: A book of mine was read by her.

(j) I was too young to say 'no' to a woman. (Complex)

(e) Different satellite channels also telecast attractive programmes of various cultures. (Passive)

Answer: Attractive programmes of various cultures are also telecast by different satellite channels.


(f) The young generation is tremendously hooked by these programmes. (Active)

Answer: These programmes tremendously hook the young generation.

(g) For being innocent, the young people are easily attacked. (Complex)

Answer: The young people are easily attacked as they are innocent.


(h) It is painful. (Exclamatory)

Answer: How painful it is!

4. Change the sentences according to directions.

(b) Everybody appreciates this quality. (negative)

Answer: Everybody cannot but appreciate this quality.
Or, There is no body appreciates this quality.

(c) It is a very praiseworthy quality. (exclamatory)

(d) It is the best of all qualities. (positive)

Answer: No other quality is as good as it.

(e) One should practice this virtue. (passive)

Answer: This virtue should be practiced.

Answer: Hopefully Bangladesh will be free from this evil. Or, We hope Bangladesh will be free from this evil.

i) Everybody avoids a corrupted man. (Negative)

Answer: Who does not avoid a corrupted man?
Or, There is nobody who does not avoid a corrupted man.
Or, Nobody mixes with a corrupted man.

j) A corrupted man leads a very unhappy life. (Exclamatory)

Answer: What an unhappy life a corrupted man leads!

6. Change the sentences according to directions.

(a) War is a curse for human civilization. (Negative)

Answer: War is not a blessing for human civilization.

(b) It is not constructive. (Affirmative)

Answer: It is destructive.

(c) It destroys civilization. (Interrogative)
